Phillip Carpenter is President of Centinel Public Partnerships. The Department of Defense business has a portfolio that encompasses more than 32,000 homes and more than 12,000 hotel rooms, with revenues over $1 billion annually. In his role, Phillip is responsible for real estate operations within Centinel’s Military Housing Privatization Initiative (MHPI) and Privatization of Army Lodging (PAL) portfolios and has operational control of Property Management, Asset Management, Environmental Health and Safety, Development, and Construction.
With more than 40 years of experience with the Department of Defense, Phillip has developed procedures that streamline real estate management services and operations. Working in partnership with Centinel’s military clients, he ensures that Centinel creates and maintains the best places for military families.
Phillip has worked globally in providing real estate management expertise and consulting services. Before being named President of Centinel Public Partnerships, Phillip was Chief Operating Officer for Lendlease prior to its sale to Centinel. Phillip also served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of J&J Worldwide Services, a federal government contractor providing the U.S. Department of Defense with facilities management, construction and engineering services for military installations, as well as over 15 million square feet of medical centers and 40,000 homes prior to privatization.
Phillip attended Austin Peay State University and the Columbia Business School Executive Leadership Program. He is a member of the Association of Defense Communities, Association of the United States Army (AUSA), National Apartment Association (NAA), Privatized Housing Management Association (PHMA) and United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and is Chairman of the Board for Centinel’s nonprofit, Centinel Community Fund.
