Matthew Garrett is the Executive Vice President responsible for Centinel’s Air Force Housing and Privatized Army Lodging (PAL) portfolios.
Prior to leading the Air Force Housing and PAL portfolios, Matt was Senior Vice President of Student Housing at Lendlease, helping to secure its first student housing project with Vanderbilt University. Matt also served as Vice President at Lendlease, where he directed business development and portfolio operations for the company’s military housing portfolio comprising more than 40,000 homes across 26 military installations. Matt also led Lendlease’s federal lobbying and outreach program, collaborating directly with congressional stakeholders in Washington, D.C., and in the Pentagon. One of his last projects in this role was the successful acquisition of senior leader housing for the Austin-based Army Futures Command.
Matt was commissioned a Second Lieutenant upon graduation from the United States Military Academy. In 2003, he earned a Bronze Star for Valor as a Scout Platoon Leader during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Promoted to Captain before departing from the Army, Matt earned his MBA degree at Vanderbilt’s Owen Graduate School of Management, earning the Owen Service Award. After graduation, he worked in private equity and later as a team leader establishing field offices for U.S. State Department development programs throughout the Middle East, Africa and Central America.
